The MPX-K is the ultra-short variant of SIG Sauer's modular MPX platform. Unlike traditional 9mm submachine guns that use simple blowback, the MPX-K utilizes a short-stroke gas piston system. This engineering choice makes it one of the most controllable, reliable, and smooth-shooting subcompact 9mm platforms in the world.
Core Engineering Features
Short-Stroke Gas Piston System: By using a gas-driven piston rather than the inertia of a heavy bolt (blowback), the MPX-K fires from a closed bolt with significantly less reciprocating mass. This reduces "muzzle flip" and felt recoil, allowing for extremely fast and accurate follow-up shots.
4.5-inch Cold Hammer-Forged Barrel: The ultra-short barrel is designed for maximum maneuverability. It features a tapered muzzle for more secure mounting of suppressors or muzzle devices and is easily interchangeable for mission-specific lengths.
AR-Style Ergonomics: The platform mirrors the manual of arms of an AR-15/M4, including the charging handle, safety selector, and magazine release. This minimizes the training curve for personnel already familiar with the AR platform.
