Description
Included:
The Ruger LCRx 3" is the "kit gun" evolution of the popular LCR platform. While the original LCR was designed strictly for deep concealment with a snub-nose barrel and internal hammer, the LCRx 3" expands the platform's versatility. It features a 3-inch barrel, a full-sized grip, and an external hammer. These additions transform it from a "belly gun" into a capable trail revolver, home defense tool, and recreational shooter, while retaining the lightweight hybrid construction that defines the series.
Key Features
Exposed Hammer: Unlike the standard LCR (which is Double-Action Only), the "x" in LCRx stands for the external hammer. This allows the shooter to cock the hammer manually for a crisp, light Single-Action trigger pull, essential for accurate aimed fire at longer distances.
Adjustable Sights: The 3-inch model is equipped with a fully adjustable rear sight (windage and elevation) and a pinned white ramp front sight. This is a significant upgrade over the fixed trench sights of the snub-nose version, allowing users to zero the gun for specific ammunition.
3-Inch Barrel: The longer barrel provides two distinct advantages: a longer sight radius for better accuracy, and increased bullet velocity (ballistics) compared to the 1.87-inch snub-nose models.
Hybrid Construction:
Lower: The fire control housing is made of glass-filled polymer to reduce weight and absorb recoil.
Upper: The cylinder frame utilizes aerospace-grade aluminum (for .38 Special and .22 models) or 400-series stainless steel (for .357 Magnum models) for durability.
Hogue Tamer Monogrip: This model ships with a larger, full-sized grip compared to the boot grip found on the snub-nose. It allows for a full three-finger hold and includes a recoil-cushioning insert to tame the snap of +P or Magnum loads.
