The Ruger LC9 (Lightweight Compact 9mm) is a hammer-fired, double-action-only (DAO) semi-automatic pistol designed specifically for concealed carry. Introduced in 2011, it was developed to meet the demand for a firearm with the small footprint of the popular Ruger LCP but chambered in the more powerful 9mm Luger cartridge. It features a slim, single-stack profile that makes it easy to conceal for civilian self-defense or law enforcement backup use.
