The ARX160 is an acronym that in the military translates to "accelerated effort" in the military jargon. In police training a lot of attention is placed on how a bullet travels from the nose of the hand to the nose of the firing hand. Therefore the need for a "stacking" type device or "breaching the nose" is placed on how a real trigger is held in place. In other words the training gun handles all the tasks that are normally assigned to a standby weapon in a training environment. For example, once the target is found the shooter must report the gun as a stumbling block or an assailant that needs to be stopped, the pistol must be manually rotated over the head and moved to the "off" position. After the pistol is rotated, the rear sight is automatically moved to the "on" position.image
